FAQ
Construction & Maintenance
Tanalised timber or otherwise known as pressure-treated timber is placed inside a pressurised treatment vessel so that the protective fluid (Tanalith E) can penetrate the timber fully. This process extends the lifespan of wood, protecting it against rot.
Dip-treated timber offers limited protection as the preservatives only penetrate the surface of the wood. In pressure-treated timber, preservatives are forced deep into the wood, which offers much better protection.

We stock 3 different thicknesses of timber starting at 12mm, 16mm and 20mm. Carrying a minimum of a 10-year anti rot warranty. Due to the tanalising process this timber will outlast any thicker untreated timbers used.
Tanalised timber has been known to last many years without treatment, however this does not protect against water penetration. We recommend coating your garden building in oil, sealant or paint once a year, this will not only prolong the life of the building it will also help minimise water saturation and keep a fresh appearance.
