Aftercare
When purchasing a garden building from Suresheds UK LTD you agree to our terms and conditions and aftercare information.
In order to maximise the longevity of your building you must:
1. TREATMENT
All Suresheds UK LTD garden buildings are made with top-quality red wood tanalised timber. However, this does not protect against water saturation. Every 12 months we highly recommend you coat your building in an oil, sealant, or paint. This will prolong the life of the building as well as minimising water saturation and keeping a fresh appearance.
2. KNOTS, SPLITS, AND CRACKING
Timber is a natural product therefore as it expands and contracts knots, splits and cracks may appear. This is a completely normal occurrence which you may fill with sealant.
3. ROOF CARE
FELT – 12 Month manufacturers warranty
RUBBER – 25 years manufacturers warranty
Both products must be regularly checked for any bushes, brambles, and trees as these can cause tears and splits voiding any warranty given. You must also check for any bird droppings and remove them as soon as possible as the acidic residue can eventually erode roofing materials.
4. CONDENSATION/MOULD
Condensation is a natural occurrence that can happen with changes/drops in temperature. The garden building must be regularly aired even in the winter months. You may add vents, open any opening windows and the doors to keep the building well ventilated. This can often look like the building is leaking but this is not the case.
5. IRONMONGERYY
You can regularly oil your ironmongery to provide longer life and fresh appearance.
6. PAINTED BUILDINGS
Timber is a natural product that expands and contracts which can cause movement within the tongue and groove. Touch-ups will be needed when you feel it is necessary.
7. GUTTERING
One way to help improve water saturation is by adding guttering. This will help reduce the amount of water running down the cladding and limit any splashback at the bottom of the building. If a building is positioned close to a wall or fence panel this can lead to water saturation due to the splashback onto the cladding.
8. TURN BUTTONS
Please ensure your two turn buttons are closed when your garden building is not in use to stop the doors from warping.
